About Unfolding Wellness

Creating a space where healing and growth can unfold naturally.

Hi, I'm Nicole Memoli, LCSW-R

I believe that seeking therapy is one of the most courageous things a person can do.

It takes strength to acknowledge that something isn't working and to ask for support in making a change.

My approach to therapy is straightforward: I'm here to listen, understand, and work alongside you as you navigate whatever challenges you're facing. Whether you're dealing with anxiety that's affecting your daily life, feeling stuck in patterns that no longer serve you, or going through a major life transition, my goal is to help you develop the tools and insights you need to move forward.

I practice from a warm, person-centered approach that honors your unique experiences and perspectives. I don't believe in one-size-fits-all solutions. Instead, we'll work together to identify what's bringing you to therapy, what you hope to achieve, and the strategies that will work best for you.

All sessions are conducted virtually via secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform, making therapy accessible from anywhere in New York State.

My Therapeutic Approach

I draw from several evidence-based therapeutic approaches, tailoring my methods to each client's unique needs and goals:

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
CBT helps identify and change thought patterns and behaviors that contribute to emotional distress. It's particularly effective for anxiety and depression.

Mindfulness-Based Approaches
Learning to be present and non-judgmental can reduce stress and improve emotional regulation.

Person-Centered Therapy
You are the expert on your own life. I provide a supportive, non-judgmental space where you can explore your experiences at your own pace.

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)
DBT teaches practical skills to manage intense emotions, reduce impulsive behaviors, and improve relationships through a balance of acceptance and change. It's particularly effective for emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness.

Trauma-Informed Care
I approach therapy with an understanding of how trauma affects the mind and body, creating a safe space for healing and processing difficult experiences.

Beyond the Office

When I'm not in session with clients, I enjoy hiking in the Hudson Valley / yoga / reading / cooking / being outdoors / spending time with family and friends. I believe that living a balanced, meaningful life is essential to doing this work well, and I bring that same philosophy into my practice with clients.
