Therapy Services
Compassionate, evidence-based support for adults navigating life's challenges.
I work with adults who are struggling with anxiety, depression, emotional dysregulation, life transitions, relationship challenges, and other concerns that affect their well-being. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply seeking support during a difficult time, therapy can help you gain clarity, develop coping strategies, and create meaningful change in your life.
All sessions are conducted virtually via secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform, making quality mental health care accessible from anywhere in New York State.
Below are some of the main areas I specialize in. If you're not sure whether your concerns fit into these categories, please reach out—I'm happy to discuss whether we might be a good fit.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
Dialectical Behavior Therapy is a highly effective, evidence-based approach that teaches practical skills to manage intense emotions, reduce impulsive behaviors, and improve relationships through a balance of acceptance and change.
DBT is particularly helpful if you:
- Experience intense emotions that feel overwhelming or out of control
- Struggle with impulsive behaviors or self-destructive patterns
- Have difficulty managing relationships or setting boundaries
- Feel like you're on an emotional rollercoaster
- Want concrete skills you can use in real-life situations
In our work together, we'll focus on developing skills in four key areas:
Mindfulness: Learning to be present and aware without judgment
Distress Tolerance: Managing crisis situations without making things worse
Emotion Regulation: Understanding and changing intense emotional responses Interpersonal Effectiveness: Communicating needs and maintaining healthy relationships
DBT provides practical, actionable tools that you can begin using immediately to create meaningful change in your life.
Who this helps:
Adults experiencing emotional dysregulation, impulsive behaviors, relationship difficulties, or those who feel overwhelmed by intense emotions.
Depression Treatment & Support
Depression can make everything feel harder—getting out of bed, connecting with others, finding motivation, or feeling hopeful about the future. If you've been feeling stuck, hopeless, or disconnected from the things you once enjoyed, therapy can help.
Together, we'll work to:
- Understand the factors contributing to your depression
- Challenge negative thought patterns that keep you stuck
- Develop strategies to increase motivation and engagement
- Rebuild connection with yourself and others
- Identify and work toward meaningful goals
- Create sustainable changes that improve your quality of life
My approach is compassionate, non-judgmental, and focused on helping you rediscover a sense of hope and purpose.
Who this helps:
Adults experiencing symptoms of depression, including persistent sadness, loss of interest, low energy, feelings of hopelessness, or difficulty with daily functioning.
Trauma & PTSD
Trauma can have lasting effects on how you see yourself, relate to others, and navigate the world. Whether you've experienced a single traumatic event or ongoing trauma, therapy can help you process these experiences and reclaim your sense of safety and control.
I use trauma-informed approaches that:
- Prioritize your safety and comfort
- Move at your pace—you're always in control
- Help you process traumatic memories in a supportive environment
- Address trauma's impact on your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors
- Build coping skills for managing triggers and flashbacks
- Support you in reconnecting with yourself and others
Healing from trauma is possible, and you don't have to do it alone.
Who this helps:
Adults who have experienced trauma, including childhood trauma, abuse, assault, accidents, or other traumatic events, and are experiencing symptoms of PTSD or trauma-related distress.
Individual Therapy for Anxiety
If you're struggling with persistent worry, panic attacks, or anxiety that's interfering with your work, relationships, or daily activities, you're not alone. Anxiety is one of the most common mental health challenges, and it's also one of the most treatable.
In our work together, we'll:
- Identify the thoughts and situations that trigger your anxiety
- Learn practical techniques to manage worry and reduce panic
- Develop coping strategies that you can use in real-life situations
- Address underlying patterns that contribute to ongoing anxiety
- Build confidence in your ability to handle difficult emotions
I use evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), DBT skills, and mindfulness techniques to help you regain control and feel more at ease in your daily life.
Who this helps:
Adults experiencing generalized anxiety, panic disorder, social anxiety, health anxiety, or stress-related symptoms that interfere with daily functioning.
Life Transitions & Stress Management
Major life changes—whether expected or unexpected—can be overwhelming. Career shifts, relationship changes, loss, relocation, or other significant transitions can leave you feeling unmoored or uncertain about the path forward.
In therapy, we'll:
- Process the emotions that come with change
- Identify what's within your control and what isn't
- Develop healthy coping strategies for managing stress
- Clarify your values and priorities moving forward
- Create a plan for navigating your new reality
- Build resilience for future challenges
Change doesn't have to mean chaos. With support, you can navigate transitions with greater clarity and confidence.
Who this helps:
Adults facing career changes, relationship transitions, loss, relocation, identity shifts, or other major life changes.
Relationship Concerns & Communication
Whether you're struggling with conflict in your relationships, feeling disconnected from loved ones, or dealing with difficult family dynamics, therapy can help you improve how you connect and communicate with others.
We'll explore:
- Patterns in your relationships that aren't working
- Communication skills to express your needs effectively
- Boundaries and how to set them in healthy ways
- Your own role in relationship dynamics
- How past experiences affect current relationships
While I don't provide couples therapy, I work with individuals to improve their relational skills and address personal patterns that affect their connections with others.
Who this helps:
Adults seeking to improve their relationships, communication, and interpersonal effectiveness.
